Few can say that they were truly born to dance, and one of those few is Olga Chekhova. Olga's parents met at a dance school in Minsk, Belarus and competed together for twelve years, achieving the status of top dancing couple in Belarus. It should come as no surprise then that Olga was born during one of the most important dance competitions held in Prague, Czech Republic, that her mother was judging at.
Starting at the age of six, Olga started her formal training in ballroom and latin, as well as started to compete at the amateur level. At the age of fifteen, Olga had become proficient enough in the dance styles and levels to begin her teaching career. During these formative years, Olga went on to compete in many competitions which led her to win several national titles in Belarus. One of the most prestigious honors of this period in her life was being able to represent Belarus at the IDSF World Youth Championships.
From 2000-2003 Olga was chosen to travel to Asia to perform in nightly dance shows on several major Cruise lines. She developed a love for performances and wowed the audience with her beautiful lines and impeccable stage presence. At the end of her tour, Olga knew she had to keep going towards a bigger goal, and decided to go to the United States.
Olga arrived in the United States in 2003 and has never stopped her thirst for dance since that arrival. She has been in various successful amateur and professional partnerships that have given her prestigious titles, a few of which are: US 10-Dance National Champion, Maryland DanceSport Professional Rising Star Standard Champion, Maryland DanceSport Professional Rising Star Latin Champion, US National Professional Rising Star Smooth Finalist and Ohio Star Ball Professional Rising Star Smooth Champion.
Olga is available for private coaching, group classes, performances, Pro-Am competitions and shows. Her philosophy on teaching is that consistent hard work and effort will yield results. She also believes that learning dance should be enjoyable, and as it is her passion, she ensures that her students love it and enjoy it every minute that they are dancing.. come find the passion within you!
